Nana is a manga by Ai Yazawa. It is about two young women both named Nana who try find their own paths in life after moving to Tokyo. One is a tough looking rocker who wants to make it pro and the other is a delicate flower who dreams of becoming the perfect wife in a beautiful little house. Despite their differences, they soon grow fond of each other. But life, being the bitch that it is, gets in the way of their friendship.
Born as a manga geared towards young women, it has spawned two movies and and an animated TV series. It has also attracted many fans outside of it's target demographics, and all around the world.
Nana sounds just like the number 7 in Japanese. Throughout the storyline, our two protagonists often find themselves faced with that same number. And so, the date 7.07.07 is coming up and fans of Nana around the world have decided to celebrate their favorite characters on that day. Do not miss it!
